Government Peak Endurance 100 & 50 Mile
The Government Peak Endurance 100 & 50 is a focused ultra-distance event set in the Mat-Su Valley of Alaska. This is a loop-based endurance race designed for athletes who want a clear, honest test of distance, pacing, and resilience. No distractions. No gimmicks. Just the work.
DISTANCES
100-Mile Run (48-hour cutoff)
Complete 100 miles within 48 hours on a repeatable loop course. Manage your effort, your rest, and your strategy, but forward progress is earned.
50-Mile Run (24-hour cutoff)
A demanding ultra distance on the same looped course, with a 24-hour cutoff.
COURSE
Trail-based loop system with a centralized start and finish area. The course is designed to be crew-friendly with frequent access to aid. The loop format allows athletes to manage pacing, fueling, and recovery efficiently while remaining in the core event environment.
LOCATION
Government Peak Recreation Area offers a rugged but runnable trail system with steady elevation, varied terrain, and true Alaska conditions.
THE CHALLENGE
This is not a point-to-point race. This is a controlled environment where the challenge comes from accumulated fatigue, time on feet, mental resilience, and disciplined pacing. Every loop adds up. Every decision matters.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Experienced ultra runners, first-time 50-mile or 100-mile athletes ready for a structured format, and anyone looking for a clean, no-frills endurance test.
EXPECTATIONS
This is a self-managed effort. Athletes are responsible for pacing strategy, fueling, hydration, and managing rest. Crew support is encouraged.
Each loop returns to a central aid station with hydration, snacks, food, and strong on-course support.
FINISH
There are no shortcuts. There is no luck. There is only the work.
Stay in the Fight.
Additional Toughest Alive events and fitness competitions will be held on-site throughout the weekend (separate registration).
