Get Outside 8 Hour

he Get Outside races are located at Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield, VA. We have a fast 5k race option, along with an 8 hour, 4 hour, and 2 hour race.

These events are companion races to the Windsor Castle 10-Hour hosted in July and designed as a chance for you to "Get Outside" rather than stay indoors and cyber shop or continually nibble on leftover Thanksgiving dinner items :-). This course is run in the opposite direction from our July companion race. The days after Thanksgiving are a time where those in the sports and outdoor groups are encouraging people to get outside, stretch your legs, and enjoy nature.

This is your chance to get in a nice long run or walk on a 5k trail (estimated at 150 feet each loop).

Come out and race the course to see how many miles you can get or just enjoy time on your feet and getting some nice miles walking and running along with other super cool endurance runners and walkers.

This is a low-key event, however laps will be counted and we'll be keeping track of your miles (chip timed) so go for it! We'll have awards for the top finishers, along with a home-made finisher medals for all runners.

We will have a fully stocked “ultra-type” aid station for runners, including hot soup and other hot items. We will not have an aid station on the course mid-lap (but you don't need it - it's a 5k loop.

Runners are able to set up chairs or tents (no larger than 10x10) near the trail.

We are also offering a Rucking option for each event. Ruckers are asked to have a minimum of 10 pounds in their backpack/rucksack.
