Florida Death Race

The Florida Death Race

YOU NEED to run this insanely beautiful race. The 37 mile will be the last 37 miles of the full course.
75% of this race is along the Suwannee River. With 97% of this race being on the Florida National Scenic Trail aka the Florida Trail. A remote, mysterious trail packed with more beauty that you can shake s stick at.

The Florida Trail is an 1108 mile point to point trail spanning 3/4ths of Florida. A 74 mile section of the trail runs along the historic and picturesque Suwannee River. It’s one of the only sections on the entire trail with any elevation change. What this race lacks in elevation it makes up in technical, winding trail. While Georgia Death Race is meant to kick you in the teeth with uphill/downhill, this is meant to lure you in with the sirens song of being runnable until you are death marching.

The goal of this race is simple. To put you in an uncomfortable distance that isn’t quite 100 but feels like one IF you finish. To show off the most beautiful section of the Florida Trail. To put you on remote trail rarely seen by anyone other than thru hikers. This might be the most scenic race we have end to end. The views of this black water river are more than stunning.

All runners, in true Run Bum Races Death Race fashion will be required to carry a 1 lb unengraved old railroad spike for the entirety of the race. This represents your burden. At the finish of the race IF you finish, you will throw the nail into the coffin and get an engraved spike that says "Florida Death Race," releasing your burden. For those that do not finish you will be left with your burden and have to take the old rusty spike home. Burdens weigh on us and get heavier with time.

As an added bonus the top 100 people for Florida Death Race will get early registration for Georgia Death Race ahead of everyone else.
