Feeling Loopy Trail Race

Get out of the city and join us for another race with Soil Mates Trail Races. Run on beautiful private trails with fresh air, fun running mates, and no pavement over rich Georgia soil. Running on soil is good for the soul and your soles!

Running laps on trails for hours can make you feel loopy. If you love that feeling like we do, come join us at our family-owned working cattle farm in middle Georgia (between Macon and Columbus) to see how many loops you can run.

Whether you're a road runner who is trail curious, a seasoned trail runner, or a weekend hiker, this race offers options for all levels. All three distances start together at 8:00 am. Not sure you want to get too loopy? Run a single lap (we're flexible on the hour cutoff). Longing for that loopy feeling? Tackle the four or eight-hour option (strict time cutoffs). Three laps is a half marathon, six laps is a marathon, and eight laps pushes you beyond the 50K mark.

The start/finish point of the 4.37-mile loop is in a large open pasture with plenty of room for free parking and crew set-up along the course. Porto-potties will be next to the first trail segment, about 400 feet from the start/finish line. Most of the trail runs through pastures with a five-foot path cut through the grass, marked by guide ropes and arrows. The 1.8 miles of forest trails are beautiful single tracks with plenty of twists, turns, roots, and rocks to keep your attention focused. If you’ve run a race at our farm before, you’ll notice that we’ve extended a couple of the trails to give you some change of scenery and some more shade when the sun is trying to break you.

Keep an eye out for cows, deer, rabbits, armadillos, and turkeys. The trail has about 400 feet of elevation gain each loop over runnable hills and flat sections.

This is a cupless race. Please bring your own handheld water bottle and/or hydration pack. Water refills will be available near the start/finish area and mid-way through the course. We’ll have race food available to supplement your own usual race fuel for those running the four and eight-hour races.
