English's Ridge Rumble
English's Ridge Rumble traditionally takes place in mid-April, which means conditions could be snowy and cold or sunny and warm, so it's up to you to be prepared for whatever the CNY weather brings us on race day.
The race begins and ends at the Reserve Picnic Shelter. The course is an approximately 10 mile loop with about 1,300 feet of elevation gain, with varied trail including some technical (rocks and roots) sections, though the majority is double-track made up of either mulch beds, gravel, or grass and a small portion of paved park road.
There are two aid stations, one at the Start/Finish and one on course that runners pass twice per 10.4 mile loop at miles ~2.4 and ~6.6 (the so-called "Serengeti"). Aid station offerings will include water, Skratch, orange slices, bananas, pickles, PB&Js, potato chips, pretzels, Oreos, and candy. Ramen, the undisputed MVP of the rain, snow, and mud fest that was 2025, will be making a return appearance after the race, available to all runners (vegan options available).
Cutoffs are generous and intended to be approachable for first timers: For the 50km, runners must start their third loop by noon (allowing 5 hours to complete ~20.8 miles) and must make their final pass of the remote aid station by 2pm (allowing 7 hours to complete ~27.4 miles). For all distances, runners must reach the finish line by 3pm (allowing 6 hours to complete the 10 miler, 7 hours to complete the 20 miler, and 8 hours to complete the 50km).
