El Jefe 100

Deep in the Sonoran Desert, a lone jaguar once roamed the Sky Island wilderness. Known as El Jefe “The Boss” he became a symbol of the wild resilience of this landscape. The El Jefe Hundred is a tribute to that spirit.

This 105-mile point-to-point journey winds almost entirely along remote singletrack, climbing through cactus-studded desert and oak woodlands. Runners will face 12,548 feet of climbing and 13,910 feet of descent as the course threads through the dramatic Sky Island terrain that defines southern Arizona.

The El Jefe Hundred is brought to you by Destination Trail, creators of some of the world’s most iconic 200+ mile ultramarathons. With the same attention to detail, immersive courses, and deep respect for the landscapes we run through, this event delivers a challenging and unforgettable hundred-mile adventure.

Like the jaguar that inspired its name, the El Jefe Hundred is bold, elusive, and wild at heart.
