On a volcanic basalt plateau deep in the Snake River Canyon 3 miles east of Twin Falls, ID is a 2.3 mile trail that circles the spring-fed Dierkes Lake. The gravel/dirt trail has majestic views of Shoshone Falls and the Snake River. Distances ranging from 2.3 miles to as many miles that can be covered in 12 hours are available. Races take place from dusk, through the night, to dawn. There is nothing like experiencing trail running in the dead of night with a headlamp strapped to your head. Do not worry though, you will not be lonely, every 2.3 miles you will experience a party atmosphere at the start/finish line at the Dierkes Lake Park. Music, food, family, and friends await you.
