Deadman Peaks Trail Run

November 7th 2026
Cuba, NM
55 KM | 53 Miles | 100 Miles

The Deadman Peaks Trail Run is a deceptively hard and surprisingly beautiful high desert race near Cuba, NM. The course is on the Continental Divide Trail through the Rio Puerco Valley. The race is mostly single track with some jeep trails and has it all from sand to rocks and slick rock through rolling terrain with a few interesting hills between 6,350 and 7,400 ft. The area is very desolate and uniquely beautiful going through Pinon Forest to Hoodoos. There are expansive views of the high desert, badlands, mesas, mountains, and some very unique volcanic plugs, like Cabezon Peak.
The 53mile course is an out and back starting near Cuba, NM first heading south toward Cabezon Peak then returning back. This is the only event that can use a pacer from the turnaround point back to the finish line.
The 55k course takes you the same as the 53 milers but turning around at the La Ventana remote aid station then heading back.
The 30K course takes you from the start up the mesa before dropping down to the mesa Portales aid station as your turn around point.
The 10 miler is an out and back to challenge our newest trail runners or gives the crew something to do. This event supports the CDT. Like this race on Facebook or Instagram for current information.
Race Swag: All runners will receive a custom race bib, t shirt and finisher medal.

Refunds

There are no refunds. Check with the Race Director for special circumstances. We will allow you to transfer your bib until October 31 for the same distance. We understand life happens so let someone else enjoy the trails.
