Dam 50k VA

As part of the 50th anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake, the Franklin County Family YMCA presents: The DAM 50K VA on April 2nd, 2016. Seize this rare opportunity to explore both peaks of SML. This challenging 31 + mile course, mixed with roads, trails, and an elevation gain of 4140.9 ft., will start at the Smith Dam. Runners will be rewarded with breath taking views of Smith Mountain Lake in this awe-inspiring first time event. Included will also be the Dam 5k and the Dam Fun Run. Dr. David Horton, Director of Hellgate 100k, and multiple 50k?s, is the Race Director. His years of experience and legendary status offer a unique flair to an otherwise grueling race. He has well over 110 ultra-race starts, 100 finishes, and 38 wins. His cumulative mileage exceeds 70,000.
