Welcome to the ultimate test of grit, strategy, and stubborn joy. The Backyard Ultra format is simple — and that’s what makes it brutal. Runners complete a loop every hour on the hour. Miss the cutoff, and you’re out. Keep going until only one runner remains.
This isn’t just a race. It’s a battle of willpower, community, and the quiet voice inside that says one more loop.

The Details

• The Loop: 3 1/3 mile course designed to challenge without breaking you — until it does.

• The Clock: A new loop starts every hour. If you’re not in the starting corral when the bell rings, your race is over.

• The Goal: Outlast everyone else. There is no finish line — only the last runner standing after 30 hours. Hey the RD needs sleep, too! In the event that multiple runners finish all 30 hours, the runner who crosses the line first on the final lap is the winner.

• The Spirit: Equal parts competition and camaraderie. You’ll suffer, laugh, and share miles with people who understand why this matters.

The Venue

Trenton Fish and Game Club – 8001 Wood Rd, Holland Patent, NY 13354
The course is run on the non-technical hiking/ski trails that wind through the pines and open hardwoods of the Trenton Fish and Game Club. The course is primarily rolling double track with an out and back dirt road section. Each lap has about 200′ of total ascent.
