Chillicothe, IL
50 KM | 50 Miles | 100 Miles

CMAR Trail Runs is more than a race — it’s a full weekend of gritty climbs, wooded ridges, and deep trail community vibes in the Illinois River Valley. Held at Camp Wokanda just outside Peoria, This event features a loop format on the Illinois river bluff trail. Come join the Central Illinois ultra community, camp out over the exciting weekend and choose-your-own-challenge from half marathon to 100 miles. Whether you're chasing your first ultra or stacking loop after loop into the night, you’ll be tested by relentless elevation and rewarded with unforgettable views.

  • Course Descriptions:

  • Half Marathon: Half marathon runners will be welcomed to beautiful camp Wokanda with an early morning start at The Lodge. Runners will embark on a beautiful trek through the woods starting with a 2 mile loop in Camp Wokanda, then run out to Green Valley Aid Station and back to The Lodge to receive their medal. Total elevation gain of 2,815 with a cutoff time of 10 hours.

  • 50K: 50k runners will be tested with nearly 6,500 feet of elevation gain. Race start is 5 a.m. on Saturday and runners will leave The Lodge and complete one two-mile loop at Camp Wokanda then one out and
back to Moose Shelter. Runners will then go out and back to Green Valley aid station and return to The Lodge for their medal. All runners are given a 12-hour cutoff time and must finish by 5 p.m on Saturday.

  • 50M: 50-mile runners will complete two 25-mile full course loops with nearly 9,300 feet of elevation gain. With a generous 24-hour cutoff time runners will enjoy the beautiful river bluff scenery amongst the maple trees and the full seasonal heat of what Illinois July summers have to offer.

  • 100M: The most bad ass runners will complete the 100-mile race by completing four 25-mile loops with 18,500 feet of elevation gain. The cut off for the 100-mile race is 36 hours.  100 miler runners must start their last loop by 10 p.m. on Saturday. Pacers are allowed after 2 loops (50 miles). Runners will get to experience beautiful views on the Illinois River Bluff Trail, the support of an amazing Midwestern Ultrarunning community at the aid stations and of course the heat of Illinois summers to test your endurance. Runners that can outlast the relentless heat and the rolling hills on the Illinois river bluff will get rewarded with a sweet ass buckle as they cross the finish line at The Lodge.
