The Atacama Crossing (Chile), is a 7-day, 6-Stage, 250-kilometer / 155-mile self-supported footrace that takes place in the Atacama Desert, the driest desert in the world located in the north of Chile.

Starting at an altitude of 3,300 meters /10,500 feet, competitors will race at more than 1 mile above sea level, with approximately 1,683 meters (5,521 feet) of ascents and 2,508 meters (8,228 feet) of descents and covering a distance equivalent to the width of the country of Chile (250 kilometers / 150 miles) over the 7 days.

The course of the Atacama Crossing takes competitors across a wide variety of terrain, including valleys - the rainbow coloured Arcoiris Valley, the Valley of Death and the Valley of the Moon -, up old Inca roads, past salt lakes, small Chilean villages, and across sand dunes, salt flats and rivers, always surrounded by a range of stunning volcanoes including the iconic Licancabur at 5,920 meters / 19,420 feet.
