The Broken/Vista 50k and Trail Half features a stunningly beautiful course winding through the Deschutes National Forest from the Swampy Lakes Sno-Park just outside Bend, OR.  

With views of the Oregon Cascades this pine-studded route will challenge you with 1350 ft of gain in the half marathon and 3700 ft of gain in the 50k. Broken/Vista is certified, sanctioned, and conducted with the highest standards for quality. The course is entirely off-road and primarily consists of beautiful single-track with medium technical difficulty. The remainder of the course is fire road. Both distances are a single-loop design starting and finishing from the Swampy Lakes Sno Park. In the marathon you'll get some awesome views of Broken Top and Mt Bachelor!

The half marathon winds through the high alpine stands and into the meadows of Swede Ridge. The 50k ventures further east of the Swede Ridge and loops down into the Skyliners valley for an adventure characteristic of the PNW.  http://www.runninglane.com/events
